In a striking example of ingenuity yesterday, a manufacturing company announced that all owners of a certain product they produce will be charged an "owner's fee" of approximately $10. This announcement comes on the heels of a recent report detailing consumers' willingness to blindly do whatever a particular company tells them to, even pay more for something they already own.
